The cover features the Sun Temple at Kotai, locally known as Ra Lakha's Temple, an ancient tenth-century shrine about 25 km north of Bhuj. Built without cement using yellow and red stone, it is celebrated for remarkable stone carvings and structural ingenuity.
The temple continues to inspire our research through repeated documentation visits. Part of the Field Notes collection, this notebook transforms this architectural masterpiece into an object designed to be carried, used and preserved.
