About this piece
The cover features the rear façade of the old monastery at Than Jagir, Kutch. Hidden away from the more familiar approach, this quiet corner of the structure bears the marks of time, with weathered stone, fading carvings and architecture slowly giving way to age.
The photograph was captured during one of our heritage documentation visits, recording a part of the monument that often goes unnoticed. Rather than presenting a landmark as a postcard, this notebook preserves a fragment of its story one observed in the field and translated into an everyday object.
Part of the Field Notes collection, this notebook celebrates the practice of looking closely, documenting carefully and preserving places through research and design.
