18 Limited Edition
A research expression in Kala Cotton.
Wearable collectibles shaped through our exploration of Kala Cotton and the material traditions of Kutch.
Produced in small numbers and crafted with care, each piece reflects an ongoing conversation between place, material, and making.
Some explorations become field notes.
Some become collectibles.
This one became something that can be worn.
The Discovery of Kala Cotton
While exploring the heritage, craft traditions, and material culture of Kutch, one material appeared repeatedly.
Not in museums. Not in archives. But in conversations with weavers, artisans, and people whose lives remain connected to the land.
Kala Cotton.
The more we learned about it, the more it felt connected to the larger story of Kutch itself resilient, adaptable, and deeply rooted in place.
What began as curiosity gradually became an exploration.
Why Only
18?
The number emerged naturally from the process.
Kala Cotton fabrics are woven in limited quantities, often producing only enough cloth for a small number of garments before a loom moves on to a new pattern.
Rather than increase production, we chose to respect the scale at which the fabric exists.
Each design is therefore limited to only eighteen pieces.
No repeats.
No second editions.
No mass production.
A Wearable Collectible
For House of Kutch, these garments are not simply clothing.
They are collectible expressions of an ongoing journey.
Each shirt carries traces of research, material exploration, craft traditions, and the people whose knowledge shaped the fabric.
Created in small numbers and intended to be lived with, every piece reflects our belief that heritage can continue to find new forms.
Not through replication.
But through thoughtful reinterpretation.
Why It Spoke to Us
